When waves meet sand
Once we were little footsteps left on the abandoned shoreline
Once we danced amongst the wild flowers
And laughed louder than the pixies
Once we had homes built around the fireplace
Built around warmth, hot chocolate, lazy nights
And love stronger than tornadoes .
Love almost stronger than tornadoes
Love sometimes stronger than tornadoes
Love never stronger than tornadoes.
The first sign of wild winds were the slamming doors and shattering voices
Showing signs of wear and tear.
I asked my sister, if they got divorced- who would you choose to live with?
To be with
Love even if...
We chose our father because he lets us drink coke
At the time we still didn't understand that cigarettes kill lungs
That alcohol and marijuana are not the smells you're supposed to associate with daddy
At the time we believed he was a superhero
He was never superhero
He was the reason I became afraid to invite friends over
He was the reason I became to strong to cry
To weak to cry
To afraid to cry
I learned not to commit
I learned aversion to pain
Always smiling and laughing,
We were dead on the inside.
